Using the Test Lobby

Accessing the Test Lobby as a Student

After a sitting has been created, students will be required to enter the 'Test Lobby'. This is where they will complete their assigned tests. Before a student can enter the Test Lobby, you will need to distribute the unique 8-digit Access Codes that have been automatically generated when the sitting was created. To do this, see Download Student Login Details.

After receiving their unique 8-digit Access Code, a student will now have the ability to enter the Test Lobby. Here they can view the tests they have been assigned.

Note: A student can receive their Access Code as a physical copy or via email. If required, the administrator can Log into the Test Lobby on behalf of the student.

To Log into Testwise as a Student:

  1. Use a web browser to access the 'Log into Testwise' screen.

  1. Click Have a student access code? Have A Student Access Code Button to display the 'Access Code Log in' screen. Here the student will enter their unique 8-digit access code to enter the Test Lobby.

  2. Click Submit Submit Button once the access code has been entered into the field.

  3. Before entering the Test Lobby, the system will ask the student to confirm their identity by displaying the student's Full Name, Date of Birth and Access Code.

Note: If the incorrect student identity is displayed, the student should inform the administrator as soon as possible to resolve the issue.

  1. Click Yes Yes Button to confirm that the student information is correct. The student will now enter the Test Lobby.

Viewing the Test Lobby

After logging into the Test Lobby, a student will be able to view their assigned tests. The status of the tests will impact whether or not a student can complete their assigned test(s).

Each test may display the following:

Completed - The test has been successfully completed by the student.

Start Test - Test test is ready to start and the student can now begin this test.

Locked - The test is currently locked and can not be started by the student. This may be because the student is required to complete an earlier test prior to starting the locked test.

Note: A 'Locked' test may also appear if the test requires a manual start. This is where the Teacher will need to press the Start Test button to allow students to complete the test.

A student can complete a test once the Test Start Period has begun (Automatic Test Start) or the Teacher has manually started the test (Manual Test Start).

To complete a test a student will:

  1. Click Start Test Start Test Button (Test Lobby) once the test has become active.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the test.

  3. Once the test has been completed, the student will be returned to the Test Lobby.

Note: The test that the student finished will now be marked as 'Completed'. This shows that all the questions on the test have been answered (or the duration of the test has elapsed) and that the data provided by the student has been saved within the system.

  1. If required, a student may now complete other tests that they have been assigned from the Test Lobby. Only tests displaying 'Start Test' can be started and completed by the student.

Note: If the student leaves the Test Lobby unattended for 20 minutes, they are automatically logged out.

Logging out of the Test Lobby

Once a student has finished using Testwise it is important that the student logs out of their account in the correct manner. If students do not log out of the Test Lobby correctly, then their results may not be recorded by the system.

This means that the student may have to complete their test(s) all over again.

Please ensure that students log out of the Test Lobby once their assigned tests have been completed.

To Log Out of the Test Lobby:

  1. Students should click the Username icon Username Icon 2 or their Username at the top right of the screen. This will reveal a drop-down menu.

  2. Select Logout Logout Icon from the drop-down menu.

  3. The student will now be successfully logged out of the Test Lobby and be returned to the 'Access Code Log in' screen. The browser may now be closed if necessary.
