Testing SEND and EAL students
Children with special educational needs or those with English as an additional language may require additional support during assessment. Any such support should not impact the working memory skills being tested. For example, when completing the Word Recall subtest (which relies upon children being able to read words), children can recall the words out loud whilst the assessor clicks on these to provide a response. Using this method, the scores will still reflect a child’s working memory, but will not be influenced by reading ability.
