It is likely you will have difficulties in using your current Lucid CD from January onwards due to technical developments outside our control.
A significant amount of your Lucid assessment uses Flash – a technology that will no longer be supported by Adobe from 2021 onwards. Technology companies (including Microsoft and Google) have also advised that Flash will be completely removed from web browsers.
As such, we recommend that you do not use your current Lucid CD from January 2021 onwards. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
This change affects customers of the following Lucid assessments: Rapid, CoPS, LASS (8-11), LASS (11-15), LADS, Recall, Ability, ViSS, Spot Your Potential, Comprehension Booster and Memory Booster.
The good news is that, for the majority of our customers, we are able to offer an alternative assessment or an alternative way to access your assessment.

Rapid, CoPS, LASS (8-11)
|
- We recommend you move to our web-based assessment platform, GL Ready, which enables you to administer Rapid, CoPS and LASS 8-11 online. There are many benefits to using GL Ready – the tests are more interactive for pupils, they can be administered via computer or tablet, making them more accessible, and feedback is immediate with automated reporting. Please contact us and we can set you up on GL Ready.

LASS (11-15), LADS, Recall
|
- You can continue to use LASS 11-15, LADS and Recall in 2021 and beyond, by using a new CD and digital download.
- All CDs registered in 2020 will continue to work. However, to ensure continuity of use, we will send all customers details of a replacement digital download. If you would prefer a CD instead, we can also provide this for you for the duration of 2021.

Ability
|
- We recommend you use our popular Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) as an alternative to Ability. Please contact us if you could like a free trial.
- If you purchased your CD after 1 March 2020, we are happy to put the full cost of your purchase towards an alternative assessment within our range.

ViSS
|
- If you have concerns that a pupil may be suffering from visual stress, the most up-to-date recommendation is that the child should be referred to a qualified optometrist.
- If the reason for concern stems from a reading weakness, we can recommend the New Group Reading Test (NGRT), Rapid, CoPS or another of our reading assessments but, unfortunately, we have no like-for-like alternative available for ViSS itself.
- If you purchased your CD after 1 March 2020, we are happy to put the full cost of your purchase towards an alternative assessment within our range.

Spot Your Potential, Comprehension Booster, Memory Booster
|
- These assessments will continue to work in 2021 but will be unsupported by December 2021.
- Unfortunately, we have no like-for-like alternatives available for these assessments. However, you are welcome to browse our full range of SEN assessments and, if you purchased Spot Your Potential, Comprehension Booster or Memory Booster CD after 1 March 2020, we are happy to put the full cost of your purchase towards an alternative assessment within our range.
